Booking Agent - Trumpet & Trombone
Christian was born in Levis QC. He started playing drum set at age 13. He studied at Laval University and Concordia University with Lou Williamson and Robbie Gonzalez (Al Dimeola drummer) in Montreal. He started his professional career at age 18 as a freelance musician playing for several pop and jazz artists in Quebec. He was Proship's second drummer booked on a ship as a showband drummer by Daniel Thibault in 1987 and did 11 contracts on ships after that. He was also a Musical Director for a Musical revue in Montreal from '92 to '97. He still performs in Canada and Europe as a jazz drummer with some of Montreal's Jazz greats.
Thomas was born in Cork City Ireland. He was initially a trombonist, having played in numerous ensembles including Principal trombonist with the Cork Youth Orchestra. He then took to the electric bass performing alongside the likes of jazz trumpeter Bobby Shew with the Cork School of Music Big Band. He has completed several contracts on cruise ships as a showband bassist and as part of a lounge trio. Thomas attended John Molson School of Business pursuing a graduate diploma and brings to Proship a wealth of varied musical experiences combined with a B.A. in political Science.

Based in Montreal, QC, since 2010, Oliver started his musical training at the age of 12. Olivier went to music college where he had the chance to study with great musicians such as bassist Michel Donato and jazz pianist Francois Bourassa. Olivier deepened his musical knowledge to become a versatile musician on board cruise ships where he worked for 4 years. Olivier continues to be a very active musician as a studio/live bassist on many different projects across Canada.
Born just north of Montreal, Sarah moved to the city in 2013 while studying Business Administration Marketing and Management at Vanier College. After completing these studies she moved to France for the summer of 2016 to work as an assistant to the director of logistics at the internationally acclaimed music festival Les Eurockéennes. After returning to Montreal she immersed herself into the local scene working as an Artist Recruiter, Event Planner, and Music Publicist for a mid level music company that hosts showcase festivals across North America. Working alongside many talented musicians was an enriching experience, and she is excited to continue helping musicians find their perfect gigs!
Joel comes all the way from the shores of northern New-Brunswick and has been based in Montreal since 2007. He studied guitar performance at Grant MacEwan in Edmonton, AB with Bobby Cairns and has been working with artists and bands as a performer and session musician ever since. With over 12 years of experience working on cruise ships as an orchestra musician and Music Manager, he brings a wealth of industry knowledge and experience to the Proship team.
Cindy Blackburn, born in Montreal, is a very versatile musician having studied trumpet in school and then went on to play guitar, bass and drums. She excelled at drums and started her own country band playing in and around Quebec and Ontario at several well-known festivals. Cindy has been a recruiter at Proship Entertainment since 2003 until 2016 when she took a break and has returned 2017 to recruit musicians again, which she loves!
Carolyn was born in Guyana, raised in England and immigrated to Canada. She was the first full time employee of Proship entertainment and was part of the team from 1991 to 2005 when she left to pursue alternative endeavors including performing in her original band Harmony Thirst, releasing an original CD in 2010 of the same name. She returned to Proship in 2016 and is thrilled to be connecting musicians with great gigs at sea once again.
Martin Heroux, born in Montreal, is a very versatile electric bassist having studied jazz/pop music at the College Lionel-Groulx in Sainte-Therese, Quebec. Martin is a freelancer having performed in numerous events including "Les Francofolies". He was a showband bassist onboard Holland America ships from 2005 to 2006. Besides being a full time agent at Proship, Martin is a devoted student of the Indian Tabla, studying with Sri Hindole.
Mel was born in Gagnon, Quebec, and joined the Proship team in 2004. Mel has held several positions at ProShip Entertainment Inc. and has worked in both the administration and recruiting departments. Her experience in recruiting musicians has provided Mel with a unique background and insight which allows her to excel in her current position as Contracting Coordinator. The contracting department supports thousands of entertainers each year and plays a key role in ensuring an unmatched experience for both our entertainers as well as our clients.
Serina was born in Montreal, Quebec. Her educational background includes a Diploma in Social Science and a Certification in Travel and Tourism. She began her career in the Hospitality industry as a Administrative Manager for a hotel in the Eastern Townships. Her experience in the Tourism industry has provided Serina with a unique background and insight which allows her to excel in her current position as Contracting Coordinator. The contracting department supports thousands of entertainers each year and plays a key role in ensuring an unmatched experience for both our entertainers as well as our clients.
Born in Montreal to a family of musicians, David Potvin taught himself to play keyboard and read music at age 5. David then took on the violin, moving on to drums and classical percussion. He holds a Conservatory's Superior Studies degree in music performance, played with symphonies and orchestras internationally, and performed for 7 years at sea as drummer and band master. David has perfect pitch and he is our adjudicator.
Mira was born into a musical family in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She was raised in Clyde River, Prince Edward Island where she began studying the violin and piano at a young age. While still in grade school she played in the PEI Symphony Orchestra, was concert master of the local youth orchestra, and studied with various accomplished violinists including Mela Tanenbaum, Philippe Djokic, and her aunt, Nancy Dahn. She completed her Music Performance degree at Concordia University in Montreal and continues to perform with various ensembles in the Montreal area. Mira started at Proship in 2010.
Director of Administration
Patrice Duchemin was born in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, where he started his musical training at the age of 7 with piano and guitar lessons . Patrice holds a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Piano Performance from Université de Montréal. He worked for 10 years onboard various cruise lines as a pianist and Musical Director where he had the chance to work with renowned guest entertainers. He also formed partnerships with different vocalists as a composer, arranger and orchestrator and his music is broadcast on national radio stations.
Vice-President, Finance and Administration
Don Bellows was born in Montreal where he began his career as an auditor for a major chartered accounting firm followed by a successful banking career culminating as the Chief Operating Officer of a major Canadian bank subsidiary. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Commerce Degree and a Graduate Degree in Public Accounting. He is a Certified General Accountant; member of the Order of CGA's of Quebec. Don was ready for some excitement so he joined the Proship team as Vice President, Finance and Administration.
Pieter van Hoogdalem was born and raised in the Netherlands and lived in Mexico before settling in Canada. He studied International Relations (MA) and Cultural and Arts Management (BA) in the Netherlands, specializing in international management and marketing respectively. Pieter has working experience as an export manager, as a producer for radio, television and internet, as a booking agent and as a manager and promoter for bands and labels. He also has extensive experience working as a recording producer and musical director. Pieter is also a guitarist/vocalist.
