THE JOB
The Booking Agent is at the heart of our organization and is responsible for recruiting and booking entertainers, musicians and/or bands for contracts around the world. The Agent spends the majority of the time on the phone and online, promoting the Proship brand, recruiting musical talent from all over the world and offering them international work opportunities. The Booking Agent takes charge of each individual from the initial contact, including evaluation, discussing the musical and social requirements of the gigs, reviewing promotional materials, hosting a live audition and creating a digitized promo pack and eventually booking them a contract. All of this while ensuring the highest level of customer service.
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate must have a dynamic phone personality, the tenacity to stay focused and keep calling, and the ability to speak confidently with professional musicians. Audition responsibilities require the Booking Agent to read music.
Key traits include determination, self-motivation, energizing personality, quick thinker, resourcefulness, team player and problem solver. Although this is not a “sales” position, a background in sales, recruiting, telemarketing, survey or customer service experience is an advantage. Experience as a musician on board cruise ships is also a bonus. Fluency in English, both spoken and written, is a must.

THE FUNCTION
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for sourcing new candidates worldwide from schools, our database, the Internet, advertising and referrals, re-categorizing dormant and/or inactive contacts into active members. Using various tools in order to successfully locate potential candidates.
- Evaluating the candidate’s potential and experience, the Booking Agent guides candidates through the recruiting process, requesting promotional packages and scheduling auditions. The Booking Agent is trained to host and perform live auditions of the musical candidates.
- Once their skills have been evaluated by our adjudicator, the Booking Agent is responsible for communicating with qualifying candidates and offering job openings to them. Resolving objections and scheduling conflicts. Keeping accurate records and up-to-date information.
- Delivering outstanding customer service while developing a strong rapport with new candidates. Staying up to date on cruise line policy and procedure changes and communicating these changes to candidates effectively. Requesting referrals and working on new leads on a daily basis.
